Bellingham Maze launches new hedge maze.
24 Mar 2015
On Thursday March 19, we at Sunshine Coast Brochure Display were honoured to be among a small group of invited guests attending the official launch of the new hedge maze. Included in the group were neighbours, friends, business associates and partners, supporters and also the couple who established the maze more than 20 years ago, Stan and Lorraine Bellingham.
The new hedge maze was offically opened by Steve Dixon MP, state member for Buderim. Lucky guest Gaynor Grimshaw from Sealife Mooloolaba won the privilege of being the very first person to enter the new hedge maze.
The new hedge maze was opened to the public on Saturday March 21st with a great of fun for the kids with face painting, local pirate , hosted games in the mazes and lots of give-aways. Sunday March 22nd was a more relaxed day for the adults with live music from local group The Limeburners.
With maintenance of the ageing cypress trees proving difficult in the humid Queensland climate, the decision was made 2 years ago to replace them with Australian Lillypillys. Since then owners Sophy and Wayne Wrangel have worked tirelessly to keep the business operating while planting and nurturing the 1000 new Lillypilly Resilience plants.
